A new e-document is now required to enter the UK from countries outside Europe. This will be extended to all international travellers from April 2nd of this year. It includes landside transit passengers –but not airside transit passengers.
If you’re not sure if you need one or not you can check here
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-get-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
Then the government website will take you through what you have to do. If you’re staying with us and you’re having any problems just drop me an email at katieheron1@icloud.com and we’ll see if we can work through it together. It is indeed a vexing piece of red tape but we won’t let it spoil your holiday.
So here are some lovely pictures of the area around our little hotel to remind you why it’s worth a bit more effort to sort it all out.

Hello,
I am writing to enquire about availability for a family stay. We are a family of four from France (two adults and our daughters, aged 12 and 14), and we are planning a trip across Scotland this summer.
We would like to check availability for the nights of 29 July and 30 July.
Could you please let us know if you have a suitable family room or any other accommodation option for these dates, as well as the rates and booking conditions?
Thank you very much for your help. We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, Maite
